3 ways to get involved in SMA!

Hi all,
Well, it's been nearly a month since SMA/CMDFWA dinner, and we hope you thoroughly enjoyed it! Did you find it inspiring/motivating/challenging? Do you want to find out more about Christianity? Do you want to get more involved with SMA?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then you'd be pleased to know that there are 3 ways you can continue being involved in SMA:

1) Join a small group.
There's no better way to being involved in SMA than joining other people in your year and course to hang out, chat about God's Word, and pray together. If you're not a Christian, its a great way to find out more about what Christians believe through real discussions with your mates. For more info about small groups, contact your year rep - they can be found on the sma website in the next few days.

2) Participate in Compassion month.
The wheels are in motion for next month's event, which will be October - SMA's first Compassion Month. The aim of Compassion Month is to raise money for a charity organisation through selling chocolates, BBQs, and any other fundraising idea. This year, we have decided to raise money for disaster relief in Pakistan through TEAR Australia. Pakistan has recently had one of its worst floods affecting millions of people. For more info visit http://www.tear.org.au/emergencies/pakistan-floods-2010. More info about this event and how you can participate will be sent soon, but if you have any ideas about raising funds, please post a comment at our blog: sma-info.blogspot.com

3) Nominate for SMA Committee 2011.
Do you want to be part of planning and leading SMA next year? There are plenty of opportunities to serve in SMA! If you are interested or would like to nominate someone, please email us at writetosma@gmail.com . A list of committee positions will be on the website in the next few days. We hope to finalise our committee for 2011 at our AGM meeting on the 18th October.
